skype dates

so when me and my SO first started seeing eachother we called every time we would skype "skype dates" since we really couldn't go on many dates in person. we then got into the habit of sleeping on skype. it was so great the first morning waking up and seeing him still sleeping over there. it would be a lot better if we were together but we have to work with what we have! we now sleep on skype every night, i couldn't imagine not!

anyone else ever slept on skype or anything like that with your SO?

When I'm having a bad night, my SO lets me do that, but since he has to pay for all internet that goes through his tubes (pays like .50 per gig after a certain cache), we don't do it that often. We can't afford to, it'd cost a LOT.

We tried it a couple of times while he was still in the states, but the connection would always be lost at some point in the night. I love the idea of falling asleep with him, though.

He's on the other side of the world right now, but I was happy to learn that he is now working the night shift. What that means is that we're now sleeping at about the same each night (he just has to sleep during the daytime hours...). He can't really keep skype running while in his sleeping quarters, but I do often get to speak with him before we go to bed. It's easier to imagine that he's here with me in my dreams when I know he's also dreaming...

It's such a little thing, I know... But it keeps me going!

When our 'tea parties' ran longer than an hour or so, my SO would get sleepy and stretch out on his couch and sometimes he'd doze off for a few minutes. It happened more when he ran out of caffeinated stuff and was drinking chamomile tea. We can't do the sleeping on Skype together thing because I have a PC in a room that's not my bedroom and no wireless. He's the only one with a laptop.

Aww. I wish my SO could webcam but his computer is such a dinosaur...and knowing we will be together soon..it would be silly to spend money now on a new one for him...

We don't fall asleep on skype..we actually don't use skype. My bf just barely got a webcam, and I have seen him on webcam like 4 times so far. Its so amazing to see him..but we have fallen asleep on the phone before, we have left our phone call going..and OMG the last time..i was so exhausted that apparently i was snoring and he heard me!!!!! When he was laughing about it the next morning, I was mordified...seriously..i didn't want to talk to him for a little while. I was so so so so so embarrassed!! That is the last time we did that, and only the 2nd time we have done that.

My SO and I can't really do this because of limited broadband. Which is sad. But we did fall asleep on Skype together like a day ago. The call eventually dropped, but it was very sweet to hear her breathing and just watch her sleep.

i did that when i was in turkey. My SO lived about 6 hours away but we were still in the same time zone. rather than skype we used gmail. unfortunately we cant do it anymore since there is now a 7 hour difference btwn us. it was nice while it lasted

lol I fell asleep today actually whilst we were skyping. We were watching how I met you mother, and I was all content and cozy, so I nodded off. I woke up to a message in the chat box "Is it creepy I'm watching you instead of the tv?" and he was smiling at me and being all cute =3 at least I didn't snore, i would have been mortified! I think we should try it more often though, neither of us have been sleeping well, so it might be good just to leave skype on till he goes to sleep too, i might suggest it tomorrow actually!

Rane & I had skype dates (when the damn thing worked), but we both found watching each other sleep, or sleeping on skype in the neither of us wants to zone. I don't want anyone to watch me sleep! The idea just creeps me out so badly!

We take naps together cause of the time difference we cant really like sleep together
But what we did recently is that I sorta kinda slept and he was watchin me I love it so much cause I can sleep better plus if Id wake up I would see him and have a smile on my face constantly. And he told me that he loves watchin me sleep, it makes him happy

My SO would let me do that too~ he has insomnia so he barely sleeps =_=; but I sometimes fall asleep on webcam and whenever I wake up I can see him sittin there doing stuff on his computer and talk to him until I fall asleep again <3 I love it ^-^

That's cute Unfortunately me and my SO don't do that, we barely get on skype as it is. But it's super cute

We skype-slept every night for months, not with video though, that was for special occasions. It's hard for me to sleep if there's light in the room. But we'd always have our headsets on so we could hear each other and reach out to each other if need be.

Skype has an auto-accept option for calls (and cam too if you want it), which we turned on, so if the call dropped and one of us was awake, we could reconnect it (usually me).

zephi thanks for the auto call tip, i didn't even know that was there! we do get disconnected every once in a while during the night, and it sucks if the other one doesn't wake up to answer the call, so that's a great way to deal with that! i'm so fortunate my boyfriend and i are able to skype the entire night and it doesn't rack up the bills- i'm sorry to those of you that it does.

i think it's such a comforting feeling knowing he's right there the entire night, well virtually that is, but anyways it's nice
he also loves watching me sleep, i'll wake up in the morning and he'll say is it creepy that i was watching you sleep? haha and i dont think it is what so ever, i think its adorable that it makes him smile watching me sleep
