How do you show you SO how much you miss them?

Its been a bit hard adjusting to my LDR, but I care for my SO and I am trying to keep myself busy w/my life. Anyways last week I let it out how unsatisfied I had been w/my SO's lack of communication, I grew frustrated of delayed/unanswered texts, esp when he was the one claiming he contact me as much as possible. He says he misses me and wants to be w/me so bad, but I don't get that vibe whether it is lack of interest or the long distance. My bf told me he wanted to know how could he show that he cares. Other then video chat/texts, how do you show how much you miss you SO in a LDR?

Some people are more subtle than others about it. Personally, I wouldn't want my SO just saying all the time that he misses me. It's other things - like when he goes out somewhere and he tells me later he wishes I had been there or if he saw something during the day that reminded him of me. Does this happen all the time? No. But I know my SO misses me and loves me. I think when you force someone to show you they miss you, it loses its meaning.

I pretty much put it out there that I wanted to see my options (other guys) and re make my online dating profile. He then told me how much he cares for me, misses me, but doesn't know how to show me attention (the only thing I want from him).

I'm not sure forcing someone to give you attention is how to have a relationship. Maybe making a clean break would be a better choice?

True that, but I want to give this a shot, after I expressed my hurt and anger he did say he misses me all the time/wants to have me there etc, but Idk if that's him just saying what I want to hear.

I've been with my SO for 6 months and get to see him every 4-6 weeks. I'm very lucky to see him that much but it's hard on us sometimes. I show him I miss him by telling him, texting him regularly to chat and talking on the phone, sending pics that made me think of him, and writing letters a couple of times a month. He is less verbal than I am but that's ok for the most part.

Sometimes we send handwritten notes to each other. To be more to the point it's photos of handwritten notes (post is unreliable and pricey).

But for the most part it just comes up when we are chatting. "I miss you" just says it all.

I don't know, I never needed to pay any attention to it, it just happens naturally.

But, if someone lacks attention, I think it gets improved with a healthy communication and discussion, not by someone getting mad and basically threatening the relationship with the other guys.
There is no place for games like that in relationships, let alone ldr ones.
