So they weren't even married? Wow. Why would she stay with someone for 20+ years, have kids with him, and not even get engaged or have real plans to get married?

That makes no sense to me. I understand for some, a relationship like that works, but obviously she wanted more. I'm baffled.

Good for you for not saying anything to him, though. Who knows if he really will do what he says, but regardless, she made her choice. And, it was him.
