Hubby and I were going to New Zealand to go to the snow for our wedding anniversary in July. They’ve now enacted a 14 day self isolation policy for any international arrival. We were only going for 5 days so unless things change we won’t be going. Upon coming home we’d have to do the same so we’d need a month extra leave for a 5 day holiday.

Just heard that they have started a wide area quarantine where my SO is. The whole island of Luzon!
Strict regulations on travel. No public transportation, so you either drive yourself or walk.
Here in Ohio all bars and restaurants are now closed. Carry out and drive-through only.
On a more cheerful note. At some bar, before it closed, in Columbus (capital of Ohio) some guy left a $2500 tip on his bill. With a note to share it among all the employees!
Also, my SO informs me that the Philippines government has a 1 month moratorium on paying bills. And there is some food assistance available to those that need it.
Things in China have leveled off, and China is sending supplies and "experts" (medical personnel??) to Philippines.

Im 18 about to be 19 in April. Ive been dating my boyfriend for almost 7 months now. I met him at our college in Pennsylvania, USA, but I am from California, USA. We are both athletes, and our seasons just got cancelled because of the Coronavirus. We also had to be evacuated from school indefinitely. It could be two weeks, or it could be until the end of the summer, which is 5 months. That may not sound too terrible, but I just miss him so much already I dont know how Im going to do it without being sad the whole time. Im all in and completely invested, but I just need some advice so that I feel better and dont feel so depressed all the time! I think the hardest part is not knowing when we will be back together. I also just really want to be back at school.

This situation is just heartbreaking for anyone involved in an LDR.
I was due to book my second trip out to see my boyfriend after an idyllic week together in February. He kept telling me to wait though, and at first I thought he just didn't want me to go. And then, I realised it was about the Coronavirus. When I broached the subject with him, he said he was worried if I was to get ill over there and that their healthcare is not as good as ours. The day before they actually shut the borders between us, he told me to come to him if I wanted to.
I was devestated when the news of no flights hit. I feel like he's even further away now. We talked about it - I cried - and he just kept telling me that he loved me, to not be sad and to believe in destiny... We will be together when this is over.
My love goes out to all of you. We can get through this.

How many hours apart are you? You could set up a schedule of when to do video chat. And of course text each other at other times, but be mindful of his sleep schedule.
And, as MsGrimm said, you can watch movies together and play games, etc.

Last summer my SO came down with Hemorrhagic Dengue Fever and was in the hospital in the Philippines for 2 weeks. Without treatment it is fatal.
Today during our morning text she told me that she was really traumatized by that experience, and was really scared of the current epidemic.
So I prayed that God send his angels to wrap their wings around her and protect her from harm and give her comfort. Sometimes I think that is the only option we have for getting through this crisis.

Hi all,
I live in the UK and my boyfriend in the US. I was going to see him at the end of the month but due to the new travel ban following the coronavirus outbreak, we don't know when we'll see each other.
I am in constant panic. He's a little bit more serious now, and I don't know what's going to happen.
How long could you go without seeing them until you lose it? Would you consider breaking up after several months of not being allowed travel? How do I not go crazy? XD

I will readily admit that I am breaking apart.
With that in mind, my advice would be to meet as much as possible, lest you go the same way. Do whatever you can to work on your relationship whilst you're apart.

Im in Australia and my SO is in the USA we had a trip booked for May (which included a cruise lol so double whammy) which will not go ahead now. That would have marked 6 months apart and I was counting down the days until the trip. It was also the first time our kids were going to meet which was exciting. 6 months is hard. I dont know when we will see each other again due to the virus. It makes it difficult not knowing a date you can count down to, having definite plans always makes it easier. But we will get through this. We will plan another trip as soon as we see things returning to normal. But it will be hard apart. Thats why I joined this forum to share stories and get support from people who understand. Im sorry for everyone else thats had to cancel plans also. My goal now is to find some more creative ways of spending our time together. Now is not the time for doubt. Now is the time to be strong and be there for your partner. Now is the time to love them more than ever ❤️
