I felt exactly the same! Me and my SO saw it at the movies together when he was over here visiting for 3 months, and I really wanted to like it, and at first i did, but i was disappointed when it finished because they missed out vital parts of a LDR, like communication...both being busy at the same time so not talking for days...choosing between spending time with friends and talking to your SO....deeper arguments about trust and 'who/what comes first' etc etc. And they didnt really show how much it hurts to be away from each other...like, they didnt seem to miss each other much!?
Also I HATED the ending...it made me lose hope in a way, and i came out of the cinema crying...and spent the entire night crying on my boyfriends shoulder telling him i never wanted that to happen to us lol.
I liked parts of it, like the sweet things he did for her...but it just wasn't 'realistic' enough for me...and how did they afford so many plane trips!? :/

It hit the nail right on the head! It was pretty crude (lots and lots of F-bombs and dirty jokes) but once you look past that, it is actually a pretty good movie. Good acting all around and a wonderful supporting cast only helped to enhance the movie. The story seemed to flow pretty well and was a definite spot-on description of what we go through every day. Definitely Oscar-worthy!
