Sooooooo I'm meeting my SO's parents for the first time next week. I want to bring them something as a gift, but I want to get it before I go so wine, which I think it pretty standard, is not the best option. I wanted to bring them some homemade cookies, but his mom makes all kinds of sweets that end up lasting until March so it seems a bit pointless. The other ideas are maybe a nice scented candle and something to hold it, or if I have time make a couple scarves and The Boy can let me know what colours.
Do you guys have any suggestions on what I could bring? It needs to be something relatively inexpensive (say, $20 or less) that would travel well in a carry-on.

Tea and hugs make the world go round - don't ever discount the little things in life.
Smiling away to oneself brings an obscene amount of joy when only you know the reason why your smiling. Pick something secret to smile about and let it light up your face all day long!
