Funny thing, he LOVES country music and I used to despise it. Well, he has converted me and now I can't stop listening to it! Other than that, we have pretty different tastes but respect each other for that. If the other is listening to something horribly annoying, we'll let the other know. Haha. While together, I try to steer away from Brittney Spears and he tries to steer away from Linkin Park

My dude and I are into exactly the same music just in varying degrees. He really, really does not get my fascination with Japanese music but the rest of it we're into together. We're mostly into rock/metal/alt but also a lot of other stuff. We also have an unhealthy obsession with the Lonely Island and The Key of Awesome. He texts me the lyrics to 'Jack Sparrow' every time I feel crappy. But I will also quite freely play some of the stuff he hates when he annoys me and vice versa XD He's introduced me to some stuff and I've introduced him to some stuff so we're kind of open minded. He also, very annoyingly, tells me if he hates anything which has led to very heated debates. Like anything though, differences and similarities kind of make it interesting. Sometimes it's better to disagree mwhahaha. Music is good for thissigpic

He likes most of the music I like (various rock bands) but he also has a taste for a bit of everything else. We still seem to have the same ear for music though. Even when it's outside of my usual genre, we tend to appreciate the same songs for the same reasons. One thing though, he loves to tell me that Tool sucks balls. I feel like he enjoys winding me up and watching what happens..

My SO don't listen to much music, the music he does listen to is similar to what I like. (and his music is all in Japanese, so it's good for me.)
I on the other hand have an obsession with music, I own 500+ CDs and have more than 8000 songs on my itunes.
I often play music when we're together and he doesn't mind it. He's not really the complaining type.

My SO and I don't really automatically listen to the same music, but we like each other's music. He's into more "artsy" music, he even has opera music and tango music on his MP3 (and knows all the words!!). I love a good cheesy pop song or reggaeton for dancing and singing loud. But we both love Latin music, classic rock, blues and I even got him liking folk music

My musical taste tends to be more...mainstream than his. He absolutely loves Radiohead (I'm being converted) and electronic music. But both of us tolerate and/or even enjoy the others music.
One big difference is that he's in choir (a tenor) and I'm not the biggest fan of choral music. I'd much rather listen to orchestral music (though, that is because I play cello...). But he's gradually converting me to that as well. It's pretty adorable how passionate and excited he gets about Madrigals and shape note singing.

My SO really doesnt like any of the stuff i listen to ( i like RnB,pop, rap, dance) if its in the charts and you hear it on the radio, he doesn't like it. But i like most of the stuff he listens too (AC-DC,social distortion,Bruce Springsteen)As long as there is air in my lungs... there is a chance

We have very similar music tastes. My SO is more into metal and rock more than I am, although I do like it too. He's introduced me to some pretty good bands, and so I have with him too. I'm not really choosy with my music, although I go through stages of what music I like most. At the moment, I'm going through my dance/clubland/electronic/pop music stage, though I do still listen to rock I'll listen to anything, although I'm not the biggest fan of country/soul/blues or anything like that.
Those who know me best will know I'm OBSESSED with Lady Gaga. She is my idol, my heroine and I absolutely love her to death as well as her music

Yes and no. The thing is both of us will listen to just about anything. I think the difference lays in that he's more of a melody person and I am more of a lyric person. There's songs that remind him of me when it comes to the melody but the lyrics will be off whereas that's a rare occasion for me. Mine is always lyrically-based reminders, with the exception of one or two songs.candi ❤ austin

Lol, my SO is from Brazil so he listens to rap in Portuguese..but it's not the same style of rap we have here in the US. It talks more about poverty, corruption and the struggle of everyday life there. I'm pretty open to most types of music, but really prefer rock style songs. In the car, we usually take our turns playing our styles of music and I don't mind his, nor does he mine.

Mine and I have the same taste according to last.fm, but there are a lot of bands he likes that I've never really listened to, or have just once or twice. I don't dislike any of it, I just haven't gotten around to listening to it.
