Hi!
I am new to this forum but my story is quite similar to yours.
It's really nice to find someone that you get along so well and communicate, but let's face it: face to face communication cannot be compared to emails and chatting. Moreover, don't forget that life is too short to spend your time dealing with doubts. What I mean by that is you should try and meet him. This is how you will find out whether he is worth making any effort from that point on or not.
Give a him chance (and also yourself) to find out if the relationship can develop to something deeper. After all, you have nothing to lose!
However, I would suggest you to be cautious. I don't mean that you should be suspicious though. For example, find a neat hotel near your house instead of offering him accommodation at your place if he plans to visit UK.
I hope that was somewhat helpful...
Have a nice Sunday!

Good luck!!!!“We're all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness — and call it love — true love.”
