I do believe Western Union allows you to send money to an bank account using both credit cards and bank accounts. They do charge a fee for it, so he could send you his money to your bank account and you could send money to your bank account with your using your card and then use your debit card to pay for ticket once all the funds arrive to your bank account.

Yes it very expensive to fly international. Its going to cost me between $1,200 - $1,500 for fly over to France from Australia return. Prices were a lot cheaper at the start of the year but the prices seem to change like every month. Good Luck xo

To me, it seems the prices change every WEEK!

I did discover that the longer you stay, the cheaper it is. Go figure.

I am from Prague and my boyfriend is from Cape town ... one ticket means for him to throw away his two sallaries and can come only for three months without the opportunity to work so additional money for food and so....

Have you considered points program's? People don't think they work but they really do. I'd sign up for. Card via a carrier and rack up the points.

There are also credit cards that you can sign up for that will allow you to collect points just everyday purchases!
I'm not sure what banks do this in USA, but in Canada, I have a credit card that gives me 1 point for every 1 dollar I spend. When you collect x amount of points, they give you $50 off a flight or other travel perks!

Yes, I applied for one of those but my credit score wasn't high enough to qualify.

I'm at a point in life where $50 off a flight doesn't seem that much but damn, I would love to apply for a credit card like this seeing as I pay for everything on my credit card (paying it all off by the due date of course) to build and maintain my credit.

When I went to Thailand in May, I paid £650 return for my flight, I paid this 4months in advance of my trip.
Last week I went to Thailand shortnotice, I booked my flight the DAY BEFORE I flew and it was £667 return, I have alerts on for flights in September and the priced fluctuate every day, up a little this day, down a little, it all depends on how close to the date and how many tickets are bought up.
