I'm in London, my SO is over in NW Washington State.

I spent six weeks over there this summer, coming home sucked... but he's coming over here for Christmas again!

I'm new here, I'm from near Bristol UK and my SO is from Detroit, MI. Its so comforting to see others going through this situation as alot of people don't understand LDRs! Can anyone tell me if the waiting gets easier as each visit goes by? This time I have to wait 5 months to see my SO I'm 2 weeks in hating it already, can anyone offer any advice on making the waiting easier or anything they've found that helps?

I've found it doesn't necessarily get easier, but I do get better at coping. Keep busy! Have confidence in that knowledge that you will see each other again!

From the time me and my SO got together to the time i flew out was only was a little over 2 months which wasnt so bad (we had known eachother 5 years prior). However, from since i left him until he comes here in December is 6 months. the first 2 months was okish .. 3rd month SUCKED!!!!! i was so emotionally broken throughout the third month. But the 4th month (current month) it has been easy not saying i dont miss him because i do but its been easy to cope with! I have strange feeling that the 5 and the last weeks leading to the visit are going to be a big drop .. But stay strong i woudnt say it gets easier but you get into a pattern i think! you just need to ride the waves

It's funny you should that because in my last wait until I saw him when we got to the 3 month stage it was terrible... I got so down about waiting and each day went so slow! So now I feel like I have time to prepare myself for it. It's good to hear that month 4 got better for you though 😊 I hope that happens for me! I definitely agree that we have to stay strong.. I tell myself in the end it's all going to have been worth while!

Im in longmont and My SO lives in Billingham and things are going pretty good for the most part. We spend a lot of time chatting and on the phone. Expensive phone bills! But if I couldnt talk to her everyday i would go crazy. Its nice to hear this can and has worked for others. Congrats!
