We met at a student protest concert. I was studying and doing research in his country when the group I stayed with was invited to a rock concert held at the public university to support the student protests/education reform efforts. I ended up extending my research time in the country so we were together about 5 months before I had to return home. We decided before entering a relationship that we wanted to attempt an LDR for a few years while we each finish(ed) or own educational goals. When two hearts are meant for each other, no distance is too far,
no time is too long, and no other love can break them apart.

I met my sweetheart on an online family game. My son who started playing when he was 10, now he's 14.He wished mom to play along but I said "no way I'm playing this game!" Well my 4 year old wished to start, he's now 8 and due to some difficulties being a younger player he begged mom to play or at least help him though some things. I was reluctant but said ok. I started my own character and went though the training. Well, being an interactive live game I started making friends and really liking it. Now over 4 years later our whole family plays.
One day I made a new friend...one of many. We started to hang out every day and became good gaming buddies. One day after many months of hanging out and chatting, we started to get curious about each other and started to ask questions though text chat. This lead to more deeper chat, until one day I asked if I could maybe call him. He said, "sure that would be great." Well when I heard his British accent being from the UK, that made me want more. I have always been interested long ago in England and Ireland so it was a huge thrill meeting a guy of just the right age from that country.
Well needless to say 4 years 9 months later we still play regular. Now all three of my kids are his friends. We are like gaming family with all the same game last names on one account. Thanks to my son if he had not been persistent I would have never met my sweet man. We now cam call text every day. I just got back last month from spending time with him over there. My first time meeting him was last year in June of 2013.sigpic

We met on okcupid. Both in bad marriages looking for a friend to write to. We wrote letters first. We were each other's "marriage councellors", in similar situation we understood each other perfectly. Then he wanted to chat in a chatbox and we did that for months. We skyped once or twice and it wasn't until we had known each other for over 3 months when we learned to know each other's real names and saw pictures. Until that we were just anonomous friends online but we clicked so well it didn't matter. After another 3months we were in love. I would have never believed that you can fall in love with someone you have never met but now I know it's possible. Since then we have met twice and it's been perfect. I'm divorced now and he is working to get out of his marriage. We have 28months together and hopefully the rest of our lives to look forward to.

Well... we met in a Star Wars RP on msn chat (anyone remember that!?) when we were 16 and 17 and we had what I like to call 'instant passion' lol. He was an angry teenager and I was the group's youngest and overprotected player. He started outright flirting with me and we hated each other. One of the first things he ever said to me was 'Watch yourself or you're going to have to admit that you love me one day' and all I could think was he was a pompus prick. We fought like cats and dogs and yet everyone always pegged us as having a 'thing'. We were both in committed relationships, I got married, he got deployed (twice) and we both (coincidently) battled weird cancers.
We spoke on MSN every day for years and it took us 10 years but I had to say 'you were right' when 4 and a half months ago we finally decided to make it official after reconnecting and realizing neither of us could imagie being with anyone else. I broke it off with the guy I was seeing and on Valentine's Day he got to hear the words 'I love you' in a completely different light and of course he reminded me of that oen time when we were teenagers that he said I'd end up falling for him.

I met my sweetie on Interpals, a website for those who were looking for penpals across the globe. We were both on there for about 3-4 years, and never came across each other until almost six months ago. I was randomly searching for people to write to, and his profile popped up. I was instantly hooked by his views on life, and laughed throughout reading his profile so I knew I had to write to him. He wrote me back the next day, and we wrote books of emails to each other. I really appreciated that because I never had a penpal who was that dedicated of a writer before. We found each other on facebook after a few weeks of writing each other, and had our first "date" on Skype. We both felt the immediate connection and chemistry.
Luckily, I already had a vacation booked for Ireland so it was too tempting not to hop on a ferry to Scotland to meet him. After four months of talking and getting to know one another, we finally able to meet in person. I was nervous that it would be awkward or that we wouldn't connect, but that was all for nothing because as soon as he saw me, he ran up to me and gave me the warmest, longest bear hug I've ever had. We only spent five days together, but they were the best days of my life.
I've truly found the perfect guy for me, and thank my lucky stars that I found him when I did.
"I'll hold you in my heart til I can hold you in my arms."

Started dating: January 19th 2014
My visit to Scotland: May 10th-14th 2014
His visit to the US: November 2014

A few years ago I was seriously considering moving to another country. I was doing a lot of research and I was leaning towards Australia.
In order to get an idea of different cultures and economies, I decided to make an account on this app where you could talk to people all over the world and not just your country or neighborhood.
It was mostly just guys trying to flirt and no one took anything serious. When I wanted to have normal, non-sexual conversations, they bailed.
I was scrolling through the different users and this one guy immediately stood out for me. Caught my complete attention.
I am not the kind of girl to be the one to approach a guy, but I thought "Hey, it's only online. What's the worst that could happen." If he didn't reply back, no big deal. At least he wouldn't see my embarrassed face.
So I sent him message. A very simple and friendly "Hello"
Guess what? he replied =)
So I immediately sent him another message. You guys, this man was the most attractive guy I have ever seen. Even though all of it was online, I was still nervous.
And guess what, he turned out to be a very nice, kind, polite 23 year old. Which shocked me because you don't find many of those here in America. They're all too busy partying and trying to get every girl in sight.
August 2012. It's been almost two years now. We've visited each other 3 times now. I already bought my ticket to make our fourth visit =) Cannot wait!sigpicMet August 2012

I first saw him at college when I was 18. He was arguing on the phone and so I left him to it knowing I would see him around. I was sat having lunch with my friends and he walks in to sit down with his friends. He got up to leave but I didn't want to miss my chance again.
I called him and asked him to come over in Which he replied you come to me. I remember shaking like a leaf and we spoke and exchanged numbers. I met up with him a few days after that and after the third date I felt I had to tell him I loved him. He looked at me and said whatever you are thinking say it I might feel the same. The thing I love is see's beyond my front.
Problem was he was back home by the end of the year. We visited each other monthly. He has moved to live here with me for 2 years but he had trouble adjusting and missed family. I started university so he is now back in Greece to continue things back home. He recently visited me after the longest we have been apart, 6 months. This time saying goodbye hurt like the first time.
I just want us to be together already!! Forever

August 2013 I started to studying Global Development in the capital of Norway. One part of the first year, is the field work where we were going to a country in the global south in february. So I ended up in Zambia, even though it was not my first choice.
He worked in the backpacker place where we were going to stay, in the airport transfer, and was the one to pick us up on the airport. I don`t remember that, except that I sat right behind him and I was tired and quiet. He asked me about my name, and told me his(wich i don`t remember). And that was it. :P
One week later I was having some wine with one of the other girls, when a guy she was flirting with came there and joined us. And after some time, his friend joined us. A tall, skinny guy with short dreads pointing everywhere.
Later, we went out dancing and drinking. Since my friend danced with her flirt, I danced with his friend. Turns out he was really sweet and cute. And before you know it, I got lots of butterflies in my tummy and just hoped he would kiss me. And so he did!
