A little Final Fantasy online community, more specifically, the irc channel for their page. We've been acquaintances a long time and.... Idk how or when it exactly happened but we got really close. REALLY CLOSE. 7 months later or so (I actually can't even pinpoint an anniversary) I can't imagine a day going by where he's not a part of it! I can't talk to him about just about anything... I've never really had a connection quite like this.

We met when I was doing some fieldwork there. He was working at the backpackers my group and I were going to stay at, so he picked us up at the airport when we arrived. But I don`t remember that. One week later we started talking as I and my friend had became friends with his bestfriend

We met through a gaming community. We joined the same day and started talking more often when we both applied to be staff members of a specific game on the same day.

He and I met (and almost missed each other) on OkCupid. I had been on there dating locally for the past year and a half, and while I'd had some interesting experiences, I hadn't found anything really fulfilling. It had been my first try at online dating and I was burnt out. However, I had made a neat sort of pen-pal on there, so I was dragging out the process of leaving. I had deleted all the info from my profile and the only thing left was my picture and location (which was shown as CA - and he thought I was in California). He sent me a message - and ordinarily I ignore people who live far away from me, but the fact that I was leaving made me flippant. I responded and started teasing him about his town name (which is a kind of food), and somehow things just...kept going.

I honestly had done exactly what people say you "should do" - stop looking, stop trying. I was playing around, being myself and not worrying about what things meant, just enjoying the process. And look what happened! Two months after I first made fun of him, he flew up here to meet me. Sometimes I still look back at this and shake my head, I don't even understand how this occurred - it makes no sense, yet it felt incredibly natural.

He also met my family (ten hours after meeting me), and didn't run away screaming, so I'm keeping him.

My story goes a little in the direction of ChloChlo. I did a year abroad in the USA and got tired of everyone having someone to date, so I thought what do I have to lose, I don't have to meet up with anyone or even talk to them. I signed up on OkCupid and got a lot of weird messages telling me how pretty my pictures were and by which you could tell that they are sending everyone the same message. My now SO send me a simple "Hi" and it was just so cute and different than the rest that I answered him. We started texting for a week and then met up and two weeks later we officially started dating.

While studying in Venice, a friend of mine messaged me and said if it was alright to give my number to a girl. I asked who and he just said she was nice and showed me a picture. I was a bit unsure, but my hand was forced when he made a post on FB including both of us; we then started talking. Turned out she was studying in London and after talking to each other online for a month (texts, voice call and even one video call call) I returned home from my studying. The day after I returned home we went on our first date and 3(ish) weeks later we became boyfriend and girlfriend.

You are so right, i love telling the story whenever i have the chance hahaha. Well, i am 17 now. I met him on chatroulette in 2013. I know its a weird place to meet someone, but yeah. I like him as soon as i saw him. I was with a friend and it was the first time we used chatroulette. So we talked for a while and the he gave us his twitter. And the next day, we asked him for his number. My friend doesnt talk to him now, but we have been talking almost everyday since the day we met. He has been with some girls, and i have been with some boys, and i have liked other people, but he was always in my mind too. So, on january 2015, he told me he was going to come to my country that summer with his friends. I literally live on the other side of the country, but i had family there so i went to meet him. So yeah, we spent a week together, and it was so fucking perfect. We havent seen each other since then, but i will go to a city close to him in a school trip in a couple of months so we will be able to see each other. I have been missing him for five months, and its becoming really hard for me. I am soo in love. The distance sucks but for me its totally worth it.

We met online through exchange language website. neither of us intended to find a relationship, however, we have talked since then, for 8 months
We still assume it's the same friendship but i've had special feelings with him. I don't know how about him.
                    Hihi

We met on a social media site called My Yearbook. We got matched together and I had no idea he was from Australia until we started talking. I thought his profile picture was cute, and he thought mine was too. We started talking everyday as much as we could and ended up adding each other on Facebook. After talking so much, he asked me to be his girlfriend. We both went into the relationship with "Okay, if it doesn't work out, then that's okay. We will remember how great of a time we had and will stay best friends." That was 4 and a half years ago. I never thought that one little thing like that would bring me so many amazing experiences.

My SO and I met on a dating site called Christian Mingle about two and a half years ago. Her profile decided someone 3000 miles and in another country was fit into the category of "people near you", she thought I looked cute and loved what I had to say on my profile so she sent me a smile. I read her profile and wanted to run and hide because I'd been in an LDR previously that went very south. I wasn't keen for a repeat. However, I prayed about it and couldn't shake the feeling I should just take a chance. I did, and two years later I got my K1 Fiancé Visa to move to the US, bought a one way plane ticket, and got married. Now I'm living on tropical island spending most of my time writing while I wait for paperwork to finish going through.
                          My LDR story:
                          3000 miles, separate countries.
Two years of distance, eight weeks in person. Nine months of that spent organising Visas.
                          Move from Australia to Saipan.
Get married to my LDR fiancée. Now live with my beautiful wife on a tropical island.
Hello from the other side! LDRs are possible, and the rewards are massive!

                              Online forum, ~2.5 years ago.
We had been good friends, but he had never opened up with me, nor I all that much, except for seeking advices from him. (He's the type of person who enjoys helping others and being useful to them, so)
Then things at the beginning of this autumn brought us closer and the more we got to know each other, the more mutual interest grew :3

We met while both working at a Japanese Garden for the late spring/summer! We got to know each other really well but didn't get together until a week before he went back home. I wish we could have been together longer before he left but the way it turned out was really nice honestly. We've only seen each other once since then and I'm really scared for the future but hopefully we will be able to close the distance after I graduate from university.
