merlinkitty mentioned taking off to go visit and to be honest I would just say don't do that. Get your parents in contact with his. Offer your mom to go as well so she can meet his family and him. This is how I got my mom to let me meet my gf. I strongly feel "taking off" is a bad idea because you're going to hurt your mother's trust, and you really need her on your side.

Are there any repercussions at home for you taking off to him?

My apologies ^^ I went ahead and assumed you were suggesting she take off despite her mother's obvious misgivings. Either way taking off while still young and in need of parental support should probably be your last resort.

<3 lol it's okay...I figured as much I'm pretty conservative in my advice giving, well I'd never tell someone to take off after someone when the repercussions include parents being ticked and disliking the SO lol
