Scented Letters

Me too! I mostly send him letters with my fragrance, I wear all the time, sprayed on. He loves the idea a lot since it reminds him of me and my presence there with him.

This is such a cute idea, but I never really wore body sprays or perfume around my boyfriend when he was around, so I don't know what kind of scent I could use that would be familiar to him. It's not like I can rub my shampoo all over the letter lol.

Do you use conditioner, as well (or can you get a conditioner in the same scent as your shampoo)? On my So's first visit, I was wearing a scented body lotion, but not perfumes, etc. (I knew that scents have a powerful memory association, but was worried that the lotion format wouldn't translate well). In the most recent letter I sent to him, I liked the idea of using a fabric swatch to place the scent on in the letter. So, I used a translucent fabric (like voile) and dabbed the lotion over it and let it dry as much as it could. Then, I tested to see if the lotion would make the paper greasy, but it didn't show up, so I also smoothed some of the lotion on in strategic spots on the pages. I know it sounds a little bizarre, but it worked really well. Sometimes conditioner is around the same consistency as lotion, so maybe that could work for you, too? As well, I guess it wouldn't be as lasting, but you could take a fabric swatch or some small item and wash it in your shampoo, then air dry it (depending on how thick it is).

Another thing you could try is thinking of a good smell from one of the dates you have had and scent your paper or items you are sending with essential oils or products like that smell. For example, say you went skating together and had apple cider with cinnamon sticks or something. You could write about the event and use powdered cinnamon to scent the paper.

I dont have a perfume on that much but I do have my 2 most faves and I wanted to do this with the last letter I sent him but I forgot about it cause I was in a rush packin everything togheter cause my mother went to the post office
But I'll def do it the next time
And he wants to send me one of his shirts with the cologne he uses all the time ^__^

i love doing this everytime i write my boyfriend a letter i spray a little on too, and i love when he gets it and tells me it smells like me! he also sprays his cologne on his letters, and i get so excited to open up the letter and have his scent come out of the envelope and think ahhh smells just like him! and i'll smell it for days

When my SO was over at mine last time, I wore a perfume that he first bought me a few years ago (My Mum then re bought me it for Christmas). And he can hardly smell anything, but when he was hugging me, he told me that I smelt nice. So I think I might spritz a little of it on his birthday letter I'm going to write to him

Hey, again. I'm going to repeat that I love this idea and have used it several times.

I just wanted to throw a caution out there for anyone who might get overzealous with the perfume application or have accidentally sprayed too much on. I can be very sensitive to perfumes and they can often trigger my asthma, so when my ex sent me a Valentine's package that had cologne sprayed on almost everything and way too much cologne, I didn't even want to be near the package, let alone open it (for fear of more coughing fits). I'm sure that most of us here would be cautious about how much we spray or apply in a package, letter, etc., but sometimes too much comes out by accident (this happened to me when I was preparing a package recently for my partner) or there is the temptation to put more on in case the scent fades in the mail--if your SO has any respiratory ailments or allergies, less is more with the scent (and if you put too much on something try and air it out or wash some of it off).

Thank you for that warning. My SO doesn't have any allergies and he can't smell that well, but I'd be worried if something similar happened to him.
I won't be spraying more than twice that's for sure.

Thanks, Lunar Snow. I've sent my man a letter with a picture off the box my perfume came in, saying that he is the apple of my eye, as the picture's an apple. I made sure I only sprayed it twice - and not directly on it. Hope he likes it!

My boyfriend LOVES the scented letter with a lipstick kiss on it; he's such a romantic. XD

i did that for my boyfriend like the day after our anniversary, and he loved it! i was so surprised cuz i didn't think he'd remember my perfume or like the lipstick thing.
but he likes to surprise the hell out of me. lol.
