I still call my husband my boyfriend. It takes a while to get used to it.

Congrats on the honeymoon in WDW! Sounds great!

For us, it would probably be a place in the UK in a forest with a log cabin and hot tub..it's something we'd be able to afford and it means if I get sick, we're in the right country! Simple, but nice for us

We were thinking about the Maldives or South Africa...buuut our budget doesn't allow us that for now. Also, part of my SO's job requires him to travel all around (which we LOVE!)...so we decided on a bike ride to a nearby cute little island from where we will live in Italy and stay in a nice hotel for a few days. Nothing to fancy or exotic but I'm looking forward to that alone time with him!

Gotta admit, a honeymoon at WDW sounds like fun! I enjoyed/loooved seeing newlyweds when I worked there!!

when i go on my honeymoon (when i'm actually in a relationship or engaged lol) it'll either be to Barbados (my good friend's family owns some nice beach houses there she'd let me rent out for free) or to Cuba (cuban cigars, food and colorful houses and cars)

You are going to have so much fun!!!

We are booking our cruise this week! I just have to sit down with my parents to do it - we are hopefully booking it through their Costco membership because booking travel through Costco is cheaper

Woman, you are crazy ahead of the game. You're still a year out and you've already figured out your honeymoon and have your bridesmaids dresses... lol

I'll firstly admit that the concept of the honeymoon hasn't quite yet crossed my mind as it's a far off in the future concept, but even when chattering about the wedding, I had completely forgot about the honeymoon aspect. So thank you for bringing this topic up!

Maybe I'm one of the odd ones in the lot, but since this is a question directed towards everybody, regardless if they had a honeymoon yet or not, I'll give it a shot.

Due to certain preferences of ours, I'd personally want a quiet honeymoon that would be just about us, and not necessarily about having loads of fun in an open, popular area (maybe that has to do with both of us being introverts that are fond of a more quiet, relaxing environment).
My side of the idea would be an extended seaside (or oceanside?) "vacation" in a private area or a hotel with exceptional privacy and service (including a view to such seaside or ocean). Perhaps that would seem boring to most, but for a couple that is fond of the practice of BDSM that could become a huge opportunity for plenty of things.

The place would have a bonus if it had a rather active nighttime within its city reach or on a nearby/adjacent beach. Cozy and beautiful restaurants, bars and cafes with open terraces would be awesome. Other events, like small shows or concerts, will simply depend on the location.

The destination would depend on the budget, but I'm sure that many beach areas hold the opportunity for this.

That was the plan. The plan was to get everything that can be done early done this summer so I won't have to worry about it from 1000 miles away during my senior (aka most important) year of college.

The bridesmaid dresses were a fluke thing though - I was just shopping with my best friend and found them and couldn't pass them up haha. I was actually just looking for dresses for me and a wedding gift for my SO's cousin :P

I really wanna go to Hawaii o_o...but lucybelle makes a really good point....I wanna go somewhere that is like...not full of tourists D:...but I still wanna go somewhere where there is a beach! I love the beach...so much. I'm a beach bum at heart . And my fiancé seems cool with it. He used to not like the beach as much but I think my obsession with it has gotten him to enjoy it more. But he proposed to me at WDW so I can see us going there too . I'm super sentimental, so I lean more towards going places that have some sort of meaning to us...I'm weird, I know.

PLUS!!! If we went to WDW, we could wear the bride/groom ears! My SO and I wore Mickey mouse ears all day when he proposed to me, and yes, he wore them while he proposed to me... it was my favorite part of the proposal .

my SO and I haven't talked about it at great length, but the other day I was just kind of like "castle tour through the UK?" and he was like "YES!" so there's that. :P I think it would be really fun, it's a place neither of us have been and it would be a very new experience without being too... adventurous? we've traveled around Australia and Southeast Asia together and for our honeymoon I'd like something more relaxed and homey feeling. I'm sure we could find that in the UK, I'm picturing countryside and small cafes for breakfast and cute B&Bs to stay in. and we'd both love to geek out over seeing real castles.

Since that'll probably be really expensive, I'd also be content staying closer to home. I'd love to go to the Adirondack mountains in upstate NY where I spent my summers growing up, it would be really special to share them with him.
