A note about TK's checklist: while super helpful, it includes some things you may not be doing for your wedding and repeats items some times. I went through, for example, and deleted all things related to the florist, as we're not having one. Take the 10-15 minutes to do that and you'll save yourself stress later.

I agree with you - I deleted quite a few things that I found unnecessary or too expensive. But it was helpful because it reminded me of stuff I needed to do and wouldn't have thought of.

Wow thanks so much everyone! I will probably be posting frequently about wedding planning, the more ideas the better! I'll check out the knot, I want to stay as organized as possible lol and I think a check list type thing will be very helpful for me. I'm also finishing my last year of school and will be getting my bachelor's next year so I think having a checklist will help keep me sane lol.

Ditto on the Knot's to-do list. It was very helpful for me. Wedding advice... start the planning now; you'll thank yourself later - I pushed a lot of things off and was unnecessarily stressed out the month before the wedding. Don't assume anyone (even coordinators at the wedding) will do what you want them to do. It's okay to be particular about everything and repeat as often as necessary. There were a few things that went wrong at our wedding and it was because Frank and I assumed what should have been obvious.

I definitely don't want to wait at all to start planning. Both of our families live across the country and his distant relatives in Mexico, so I want to get things going ASAP so we can at least figure out a date soon. It'll be over a year before the wedding but still, I've been looking forward to planning this for a long time! I'm not sure if I will be using a coordinator or anything, but we'll see. I can't wait to get started!

lol my SO will probably never really see first hand the work I will be doing to plan our day. Of course I'm forcing him to make final decisions with me, but for the most part he's pretty laid back. He will be busy with his job in the Air Force overseas soon, so I know that he won't be much help anyway lol. I want a small wedding so hopefully I can handle that lol.
