This is the engagement ring. I dont have a photo of the wedding rings, but we went for simple wedding bands.. mainly because of him. We engraved them on the interior .. he has my name on his and i have his name on mine and we both have a phrase in ancient greek which is meaningful to our relationship and roughly translates to "beautiful things are difficult".

About the ring.. commasplice, neither of us had any idea what princess diana's ring looks like. We realized what it looked like after people started telling us that it looks like hers or asking if we were a fan of the royal house of GB or something. It just happens to bear a resemblence, because it's saphire with a suite of diamonds...hers is GIANT. My SO picked this one cause he knew i liked vintage, we wanted to be conscious of the issues in the diamond industry and cause I didn't want the classic big diamond. I love it because it's our engagement ring, because he chose it, and it symbolizes a lot of things for us.. but i also love it cause it sparkles beautifully in the sun
The pharse has a lot of meaning for us and was a natural choice, because he started telling me this quite early into our relationship. I remember i warned him i was difficult or something like that.. and he said this phrase to me "beautiful things are difficult" and the original in greek, because he works in philosophy and that is where the phrase comes from. He said it to me several times after that, but with time, it became about our relationship and it helped during the more difficult parts.. as a reminder and an incentive. And we thought it would be even more relevant because we have this difficult year ahead and after that, just marriage.. which is not necessarily easy and great all the time.Comment
