Destination Beach Weddings

My best friend and her husband did a destination wedding here https://www.aventura-palace.com/ and it was gorgeous. It was an adults only all inclusive resort and we all had a wonderful time. They actually did a quick courthouse wedding a few weeks before their wedding in Mexico due to the hoops they were having to jump to get a license in Mexico. They only celebrate their wedding day anniversary and consider that they day they were actually married instead of the legal date. You might consider that as an option as well.

I am ok with getting the actually marriage in the US and having the wedding on a different day. I would be like them and just celebrate it on the wedding day. We may have to do that anyway b/c in my divorce he can't live with me and my children until we are married that is going to be hard b/c once he moves I would hate for him to find another place to live until we can leave for the weddings which might be a few weeks depending on the timing. So It might be better for us to just get married and have the ceremony elsewhere.

My brother got Married at RIU resort in Negril, Jamaica. It was an all-inclusive and we had a great time, it was the best wedding I've ever attended. He looked at Mexico, but you had to get everything translated, which wasn't the case in Jamaica. Now, the resort and area he chose were great, but since most of the all inclusives do weddings, I'd recommend looking in Ocho Rios, it's stunningly gorgeous, I couldn't believe what a paradise it was. Also, since it's just the two of you, choose an adults only resort. There are two types though, ones centered more on romance (like Sandals) and others that are more based on "adult entertainment" (like Hedonism), so pay attention to the resort descriptions

I have looked at Jamaica if I decide there I will PM and see what you think. I read some descriptions of some of the adult only places and I know what you mean so I will watch for that. I think one place said you could get different color bracelets for how adventourous with other couples you wanted to be...yeah that isn't what we are looking for LOL

Folly Beach, South Carolina, USA is a laid back, quiet beach. The main hotel there is Tides, and they help with planning a beach wedding. You can get married on the beach there. You can google it. It's a popular place for weddings, and I've seen beautiful beaches. I've stayed at Tides and loved it. There are several quaint restaurants within walking distance, and Tides has a beautiful restaurant, too. They can assist with most everything for the wedding, except the license which you can get easily in Charleston, SC.

I actually live in SC so I guess if we decide to stick close to home that would be an option. I was kind of hoping to go somewhere I had never been before and that we can get away from everyone and just focus on the 2 of us.

I am leaning towards a Dutch beach area. I have no idea how, but only certain places are allowed to hold ceremonies unlike USA where you just need the JOP/religious person to be valid and have a license. If possible I would love to do Hoek Van Holland. It is a great beach with several places to have a small party afterwards and a nude beach to boot so you can just book a room afterwards and chill with your baby in the buff for your honeymoon.

That place is HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT so not great to stay but an awesome erotic trip for a few times with your sweetie pie.

Yeah, true Toga parties (nothing under the Toga), naked pool parties, topless piano bars, and/or dirty lyric nights....just plain fun. They don't force you to join into anything they just let everyone do most anything and keep things in check for those that don't. Drug are illegal though, so don't let anyone lie to you about that. The place is laid out in different areas so you can go as clean or dirty as you want and there are plenty of people around that work there to make sure everyone is safe and never pushed into anything they don't want. Keeping everyone happy is their business. I would not want to stay there but would go back to a resort down the road and do a few day/night passes in a heartbeat......now to just talk the SO into that someday.

And yes, it is totally on a beach and plenty get married there.

It is an all inclusive in Negril. All the booze you can drink. I highly recommend not staying there but going there for a honeymoon, but beware those night passes are addictive and expensive when they add up. LOL. Enjoy.
