I have a question about the whole Maid of Honour thing... is that a North American tradition or something? Or did I just live my entire life under a rock (I grew up in a tiny town, it's possible!)?
I'd never heard of a Maid of Honour before I came to Canada. It was always "Matron of Honour" at home. Which actually kind of makes sence... someone who's married, that you look up to... and perhaps their good luck in marriage will rub off on you or something.
But my friends tell me the Maid of Honour is the same, yet not married. Somehow I'm not seeing the sameness though. To me it feels like picking favourites.
So, yeah.. thoughts? opinions? random facts?
