Give your SO a morning call!

I think this is good for couples who have 5-8 hours time difference.

My boyfriend just went to Asia and I'm in Europe, we have 7 hours time difference. We normally talk once in my afternoon/his evening so I get to say good night to him. Then when I'm about to go to bed at 12 later that day, I call him to wake him up (7am there). I think this is really a good idea as he can also say good night to me everyday.

I think most girls want to do all kinds of things in a LDR which is definitely sweet, but some guys may not be that "creative". Some easy and little things to do as a routine might be very helpful in this situation. Well, I'm very new to LDR myself so a lot to learn actually

Heh I wish I could do that (only 1h time difference though) but my SO always turns off his mobile for the night. Yesterday morning I was trying to call him but it kept going to the answering machine. Later he called me and was really worried why I had called him like 7 times

I would like to do this, but it would get way too expensive. I sometimes call my SO from my cell phone, but it once cost me like almost 40 euros for a few minutes.

Wish I could do that...calls cost so much, even if they are for a few seconds.
I usually just send him a text though =D

I enjoy doing this call in the morning . We are only one hour difference in time . Its great to be able to hear his voice in the morning even in the night before going to bed . I think iam getting alittle spoiled . I just wish to be with him . Hoping to keep things the way they are . We are only 3 months together .

I sort of do that. I call him on Skype to wake him up sometimes. Unfortunately, calling him though costs about $3/minute.

Wow it seems it's a lot more expensive to make phone calls in some places than others! My boyfriend's cell phone is from his company so all his bills are paid by the company, and he's still using his number from where I live which means when I call him, it's a local call for me.

I think calling other people's mobile phone or landline from skype is a lot cheaper? Never tried myself though, is the quality good?

                        This is cute =]
Me and my SO used to do this. He'd call me and wake me up for school because he's a night owl and stays up until ungodly hours, but now that his cell phone gets NO reception at his house, we can't.
it's still a lovely idea, though!

another great cheap international calling website is www.rebtel.com. They have great connection (not perfect, a few times I had to deal with customer services) and great customer services. I have been with them for over a year. And I have been in long distance relationship for one year and 6 months.

This is a cute idea, but my SO usually sleeps until noon if he doesn't have classes early because he stays up almost all night playing random games with floormates or doing schoolwork or projects for his floor. I never have a set time I get up either due to classes not being at the same time every day. Once in a blue moon, I'll get a good morning text, which makes me melt with happiness and then sets me up for a great day.

"Do I love you? My God, if your love were a grain of sand, mine would be a universe of beaches."

My SO wakes me up almost every morning since he is 6 hours ahead me (5 in winter). He uses Skype so we don't have to pass out when the phone bill arrives.. It usually takes me some 15 minutes or more to wake up so he gets to translate my mumbling quite a lot! I actually just woke him up for change since he had to wake up really early for a work trip. He didn't sound very happy but I guess that was expected considering it was 4.45 in the morning..
