I have no idea how I'll be able to do this, I'll be flying from Edinburgh to Washington D.C and it will take me a grand total of 17 hours before I meet my SO. All I can really do is stock up on breath mints before the flight and hope I don't look/smell too bad coming off the plane...I hate the grungy feeling you get after stepping off planes when you've had a long flight

My trip takes between 22-32 hours (depending on layovers etc) I always take a comfy pair of trackpants and a clean shirt with me. I wear the trackpants on the longer flights and change back into my jeans and the clean shirt in the last hour or so of my last flight. I try to brush my teeth if I can, I like using a little bottle of water for the water to brush my teeth with (rather than those gross bathrooms ) Otherwise, if you can take some roll-on deoderant on the plane with you that has a nice smell, then you'll at least have that. Also brush my hair when I get changed too, and wash my face. Just so I feel refreshed. But nothing helps more than if you can actually manage some sleep on one of those flights.

well I'm really care about how am I look like when he see me at the first time. I know he doesn't care about it, and he loves me anyway but I still like to do it everytime so usually I do these things:
- Pull your hair back, this way it's not gonna get messed
- find a bathroom when you landed and change your shirt do your hair / make up
- I usually brush my teeth on the plane... yep. I don't care how much they think I am crazy. I am travelling 20 hours!!! I need that toothbrush after those shitty plane food.
- Parfume!
and well I guess that's all

For everyone with long her:
FRENCH BRAIDS!
Seriously, if you don't already know how to do them, it's totally worth learning and it's such a hair saver on long travels.
I usually tie my hair up in two French braids the evening before I leave (it's easier and the braids are neater when you do it while your hair is still a little wet).
That way the hair doesn't get in the way and I can lean back comfortably in the seats, which I couldn't do with a bun.
♥ Być tam, zawsze tam, gdzie Ty. ♥

What a awesome thread I got some useful tips.. I am deffo going to do a french braid as waist length hair rubbing on a seat for 15 hours is hell to brush out lol Wipes, a change of clothes, deo, perfume, toothbrush and my heels will all be on stand by as well as my make up! I would love to freshen up on the flight, but on this trip my lil ones will be with me so I doubt I'll find the time:P So it looks like I'll be hitting the bathroom in the airport! Thanks again to all who posted this site is a wealth of info and support <3

I usually freshen up while the majority of passengers are still sleeping on long distance flights. When I traveled to the UK to see my partner, I was too excited to freshen up a second time once the plane landed (I had 2 huge suitcases as I took stuff for my mom and to decorate my partners new place) and it didn't make any sense as we had a 2 hour drive to get back to his place.sigpic

i dont think im saying what hasnt been said already but even though my guy prefers me to not wear make up and likes me however i look i still love looking good when i get off the plane these are the things i do the night before and what i take with me in my hand luggage.
Night before : - good old pampering session xD waxing, nails, hair mask, facial etc etc
I always get on the plane wearing comfy panties (long haul and thongs do not go well), leggings, tank top and a hoody plus a coat (get too cold on the plane). I also wear flight socks, i sometimes get swollen feet and they really help with the circulation. Slipper socks and wear comfy flat shoes.
Hand luggage - eyemask (so other passenger lights dont annoy me), make up bag (foundation, blusher, eye liner, eyebrow pencil and lippie), ipod, lip scrub, lip balm, elizerbeth arden 8 hour cream (amazing stuff) face wipes, face mist, eye drops, deodrant, sunglasses, aspirin, toothbrush and paste, chewing gum, packet of mints to suck on when lifting off and landing, book/magazines, change of undies and a set of clothes and high heels to change into.
I tend to get ready about an hour n half to 2 hours before landing (as i beat the queues lol) by washing my face etc and changing while in that tiny cubicle. then put my make up on in the seat. Yeah every one looks at you but i guess its cause ppl are bored hehe.
I like my lil routine cause it kills an hours or so : )

I take wipes, toothbrush, mints, mint chewing gum, mosituriser and also a change of clothes. This time around I am flying Auckland-Sydney-LA-Chicago so I will most likely use the toliets in LA to change and to make sure I look good before I head off. Generally once I arrive in Chicago I get to excited and literally run to see my SO
