One of the senior counselors at my internship brought Valentine's Day chocolates for us. That's about it holiday-wise for me, besides me wearing red and white. I was supposed to see my SO last night but now I'm unable to go until this Saturday. Also, I had a nice gift idea but I thought of it too late and couldn't find everything I needed for it in time. I don't know if he planned on doing anything for me. This year wasn't as nice as last year, I suppose...

He had spent his day coming back from Oklahoma, he was visiting his aunt who was getting him stuff for his new dorm room. So I spent my day playing Pokemon 3D (yes...i'm a nerd) until he got home. He opened hid gift from me (stuff for his dorm room, a picture frame with a photo of us) and I FINALLY got to open his gift to me that had been sitting in my room for 2 days!! Then for the rest of the night he had to work on school paperwork and we talked off and on with yahoo messenger while he was working. He was really tired from his long day <3

This is what he got me (The note was already in the bottle....and the chocolates didn't make the photo hehehe)

      Made it official: 12-01-10
      First visit: 3-29-13/4-09-13
      Closed the distance: 07-31-13

I got the "Snooki," which was a chili burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches. The grilled cheese sandwiches were made with American cheese so I didn't eat both of the buns (they were rich and filling), but the chili patty and side fries were absolutely delicious. We then bought a plate of toasted S'mores to share and went to go get magazines for our night-in (aka. bubble baths). She said she didn't have time to get chocolate and cards cause she was on the toilet all afternoon (entirely believable cause she's doing some intestinal cleanse) but I came home and she surprised both my sister and I with cards and chocolate! My chocolate is a hollow sea turtle filled with little baby sea turtles.
That's awesome that you still got to celebrate Valentine's day with the people you love! And that burger sounds amazingly delicious

I have had the best Valentine's Day I have ever had in my life!!

My boyfriend is not big on celebrating valentine's day so I wasn't really expecting anything, so when he asked if we wanted to eat together on skype since we can't be with each other until march I was sooooo happy!! We decided he'll have lunch and I'd have dinner at the same time (6 hour time difference :P)

So on Valentine's Day I had to get up really early for class and I didn't have much sleep because I was already so excited for our date!
When I came home it took me about 4 hours to get ready - it took a lot of time choosing the right dress to wear, choosing the right necklace, the right ear rings, the right make up and the right hairstyle to look my best for our date! And of course I had to set up a wall of cloth so my sister wouldn't disturb our date (since she has her desk right behind mind..)
I called him at work to wish him a Happy Valentine's Day because the past week the internet has been really bad and most of the time he couldn't hear me, so I figured I'd call him just in case!

Then I was waiting on Skype for him to come online and before we started our call he asked me what I chose for my main course, what I'm going to drink and what kind of ice cream I bought and I had a feeling there was more to it than just eating together, but I was not expecting what he had planned for me:

We started our skype call and he was wearing a nice shirt just for me and was telling me about "House de la Love", the restaurant we were sitting at and at first I was so nervous I wasn't really getting what was going on, he was talking to the "waiter" telling him we need some more time before ordering and so we talked for a bit, he complimented on everything I did to look nice (he noticed EVERY single thing!!) and then he called for the waiter again to order our drinks. He acted it all out, ordering what I bought myself to drink and ordered some apple cider for us to share. So the waiter came back with our drinks (I had to get up and get my drink and he had to get a bottle opener :P) and he poured in some of the cider for him and some for me, reached it out to the camera for me to grab and I put my glass down next to me with the energy drink in it.
Then we kept talking about what he did today, what I did today, what he was talking about with a common friend and it really felt like having a date - I seemingly relaxed! He then send me to put my food into the oven (mine would take 50 minutes, his would only take 35) and we kept talking about anything that came to our minds until we were ready to order our salad. So he ordered the salads, his with house sauce (which we then had to go grab) and I was laughing so hard when he complained to the waiter that my salad was so much bigger than his, then I said they forgot the seasoning on my salad and I held it up to the camera and he poured some of the sauce on it which made it taste so much better. We then noticed that this restaurant sucked, they had the weirdest setting, there were pillows lying around, the floor was different where he sat and where I sat, the walls looked different and they didn't even had matching chairs!! We decided we wanted to see if the main course would be as troublesome as the salad before we chose if we would everbe coming back! So when we ate up the salad we looked at each other and talked and talked and talked until it was time to order our main course so he took the menu and read what they had. He decided he'd eat chicken breasts and I decided I'd have tortellini with cheese sauce, so he called for the waiter again and told him what we wanted to order (which meant our food was ready to be taken out of the oven and we had to go get it).
He came back with two plates, showing me what the waiter brought him and I showed him what I had gotten on my plate and then came the part that I loved the most about this date: he reached out to the camera to grab my hands, I reached out to hold his and he prayed for us!!! I closed my eyes listening to his prayer and then looked up to him when he said amen, I smiled and said amen myself :P He wished us bon appetit and we started eating our food and the taste of this delicious food totally made up for the screwed up salad and the patchwork setting we were seated in. And all the while we were talking about whatever came to our minds, about valentine cards that we've seen, about flowers he wanted to buy for me and it was just nice sitting there looking at each other and eating together! He is a fast eater so he was done a little while before I was and somehow we came to the topic of valentine's days in my past and I had to admit that I have never really had a real date for valentine's day (even though I was with my ex for 4 years), so it made our very first valentine's date not only his but also my very first one, which was nice to think about. So after we were done eating he pulled out the gift he had gotten me and it was this beautiful silver necklace with a purplish-blue pendant he had gotten for me that has a very special meaning to both of us! He told me how he is going to put it on me when we meet in 5 weeks and I was just stunned bow how beautiful it was!! I love that necklace and the meaning behind it!!
Finally it was time for us to get our dessert, so he looked at the menu again and read all different kinds of ice cream they had to offer and told me he'd like to have chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and I wanted chocolate ice cream myself. So once again he called for the waiter to order our ice cream (which again meant to get up and get it, but I was really nervous because I didn't want to get too much, but I also didn't want to take too little and seem like I'm not enjoying eating with him so I kept asking about a (european) billion times how much ice cream I should get, but he just smiled and said "It's valentine's day get as much as you feel comfortable with!" and so I did.) So the waiter came back with our ice cream, he showed me his bowl and I showed him mine and we noticed that atleast the bowls were somehow matching even though they didn't quite match, but atleast they were both white :P He told me how great his ice cream tasted and I told him that next time I'd like to try some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream myself if we ever decide to eat at the House de la Love again! We continued to talk to each other and in the end when we took a look at the time we noticed it was almost 2 hours - now that's what I call a wonderful date!!

This valentine's day date was just amazingly romantic!!!
So even though I know the next valentine's day might not be the same or even close to this one, I know how lucky I am to have my boyfriend, who put in that extra effort just for me!!

On the radio today they were talking about a place in Houston that makes a burger that has 9 burger patties between two buns. And it's only $13! Only one person has finished it and he did so in 2 minutes!

My SO and I didn't get to spend Valentine's Day together but we sent each other cards, which arrived today because both of us are not good at mailing things haha. We were able to Skype for an hour. He tortured me with the brochure of the place we're going on vacation to. He would hold up the address label to the camera but not any parts where I could actually tell where we were going. He then told me there was a spider on the wall behind me and while I was turned around freaking out he held up the brochure completely. Ugh!

Piper - that sounds like an awesome way to spend the day with someone you love

My workplace does an annual Valentines for Senior Citizens at an assisted living facility around the corner from our office, so this past week at work, we all made handmade valentines and wrapped carnations and made treat bags to deliver. I was one of the delivery people and got to hand out the treats to the seniors during their lunch time. I absolutely loved doing it - I love doing it every year, but this year felt special because the residents were so grateful that they weren't forgotten.

When I got back from delivering, there was a box on my desk. I opened it up and the SO sent me the most adorable stuffed gorilla with a box of treats. Then we managed to fit in a Skype date after kids went to bed for a few hours. I sent him a box with tiramisu flavored coffee, a chocolate tv remote control, a Star Wars M & M dispenser with a bag of M & M's, and then my son made valentines for my SO and his family. We threw in a few goodie bags with kisses and chocolates for his family too, which they all enjoyed 38 more days and we'll continue the celebration

Whoa. 0.0 Reminds me of Togos' "Pound the Pounder" challenge: a 2ft sandwich with over 2lb of pastrami. Some people are crazy. What did he win if he ate it all?

We're actually celebrating today (saturday) as I've been working and we have the whole day together. He gave me his card the night before thursday. He wrote this silly poem and spent time making the card, it was really sweet. He bought me these chocolates that I pointed out a few days prior that I wanted. I worked for most of thursday, but after work I came home and we took a bus to the city and lined up at this popular Malaysian restaurant. We each had a roti and shared a vegetable curry and mi goreng noodles between us - we were STUFFED. Then we went to this gamers internet cafe and played league of legends together but the server went down so we headed home .

Today I'm giving him my card and we're supposed to go to this korean restaurant and get some ice cream but its raining outside

Oh my goodness! They didn't say if he won anything. Apparently the burger started out as a gimmick but has been so popular that they put it on the menu!

Rob made me an adorable penguin for me out of post-it-notes on an impromptu whim. I couldn't care less for Valentine's Day but this made me squee

My SO and I spent the day talking (typing) on Skype. I got to open my gift which was a beautiful necklace.

We were supposed to watch Going the Distance together, and Face Time after, but we put it off until Saturday (which he is totally going to push back to some other day).

Due to a really stupid online store, I can't send his gift until the last part of it gets here. He purchased my card on the 14th, so it's going to be late too. We both fail. It was a nice Valentine's Day though. I just wish it could have been spent in person.

I spent my Valentine's Day doing chores and homework lol. My SO is in basic training right now so didn't get to even talk to him. But at the end of the day, his mom texted me and said I got a delivery over at their place that I might want to see. So I drove down there and I don't know how he did it, but he had a bouquet of roses and stargazer lilies sent to his parents' place for me, and chocolates! I was so shocked and surprised! And suddenly I was just so overwhelmed with missing him I just cried lol. It was so romantic

Well, he went to sleep around 9am my time, we were on skype.. So when my package came at noon, I waiting an hour before I woke him up so I could open it. He gave me some flowers (yet to bloom, I have to do that part) and a little teddy bear. So he went back to sleep and spent the entire day cuddling Brownie (bear.) When he woke up we watched the Notebook and he didn't hate it lol. That's all I can remember hahaha. He just got my present last night. I got him a coffee mug with a black heart on it that turns red when you pour something hot in it. And not exactly V-Day, but he also got that 100 questions book yesterday, so we spent last night asking questions and talking for a good few hours I think. It was a good two days.

Thursday I woke up feeling sick and rough, so he made me honey tea and took a nap with me which was the sweetest. He had an appointment in the afternoon, afterwards we went to a used book store that is a romance novel metropolis LOL! Then we came home for a night in watching movies.

Friday we were both feeling more up to celebrating and made some ziti, danced around, broke into song a couple times and had a more romantic experience than doctor visits!
