I got back really early this morning from 3 perfect weeks with my SO in Holland. This was the first time we'd been together after having met 7 years ago, and he is so worth the wait =)
When i got off the plane i was in a bit of a daze, not sure if it was really happening, walked through arrivals and got my bag, then when i walked out the door i didn't notice him at first, then spotted him with his dad. The first thing he did was put his arms around me. In the car on the way to his house we were both really shy but once we got to his house that soon disappeared as we got used to being around each other. I kissed him for the first time that evening.
I had a great time whilst i was there. We did all sorts of stuff. The city where he lives is absolutely beautiful, full of brick roads and trees and rivers. Every Thursday they have a market on the streets and there's a parade of people dressed up in old-fashioned clothes riding in horse carts. I got to meet my SOs family who are all really nice, and his best friend who is really funny and silly, and quite possibly the tallest guy i've ever met. I went to Amsterdam and to a themepark and bowling with his family and to the beach but the best thing entirely was just being with him.
Hopefully he will be able to visit me at Christmas, which isn't too long away. I absolutely hated saying goodbye. I was trying so hard not to cry in the airport. He was trying not to as well, so he kept making us laugh to keep the tears at bay but when I'd walked through the gate and left him behind the tears kept welling up and it was hard to keep them back. As soon as i got back home i was on msn cause we needed to see each other. He'd been crying after i'd gone. He said he was alright after they left the airport, it was just when he got into bed that it hit him that i'd really gone and then the tears came.
I miss him incredibly much and can't wait till Christmas when he might be able to visit me.
