We have been given permission to post a survey on this forum. We are doing some research to try and better understand why people might misrepresent aspects of themselves in an online romantic context (behaviour which has come to be known as 'catfishing'); this may be from a previous relationship or experience. If you have ever misrepresented yourself to someone online (for example using someone else's photos and pretending they are you, or exaggerating aspects of your lifestyle) we would be really interested in hearing your views.
