About 2.5 hours from door to door We're only a 40 minute flight away from each other now. Used to be around 13 hours for us.

It varies, but if I get decent layovers and a direct flight from LAX to Tampa, then the flights usually take around 24 hours, but I've had flight plans that took 36. Plus there's the drive to and from the airport and the extra time at the airport before you initially leave. The 12-13 hour flight from sydney/melbourne/brisbane to LAX is always a killer, and I always struggle to sleep on it.

Plus, I'm one of those people that like to get up a lot, especially on those long flights I like to just walk up and down the aisle a bit, do some stretches. So anytime someone who is blocking me gets up, I always get up too. I like the window because it gives you something to lean on, but I also like the aisle because I can get up un-obstructed and I honestly don't mind when people ask me to get up. Just have to make sure your elbows and feet don't get cleaned up by the food cart.

I used to like flying, but I think now I'm bored of it.

it takes me a five hour flight, a layover that goes anywhere from 2 to 7 hours, then an 11 hours flight. so that's 18 hours minimum, add to that the 2hours before the initial flight at the airport and the minimum of an extra hour after landing... 21 hours... i get there a mess!

Wow the dedication in this thread is amazing. We're so lucky, really lucky, because we have a direct flight which is under 2.5 hours. For me it's a simple half an hour drive to/from the airport, but for him it takes 1-3 hours through London traffic.

9 hours and 58 minutes for flights and layovers. About 7 more hours of delays and border interrogation! >.<

5 hours by bus from my city to Buenos Aires, a few hours waiting there and then a 16 or 18 hours flight depending on the lenght of the stops in Dallas or Houston
So, 25 hours more or less, if I'm lucky

There isn't a direct flight. so 4 hours flight til São Paulo, wait until the next conection to Germany, wich can take anything from one hour til 6 or 7 hours of wait in the airport. ive done longer than that also.

12 hours from sao paulo til germany.

plus one hour or more drive til where we live.

around 24 hours since I leave my mithers house til I arrive there usually.

                      I concur with nomnom_elf.
Seeing some of these makes me really grateful that my SO and I still live in the same state.
It takes about 7 hours by car or 4 hours by plane with a layover in Atlanta. It would only take 45 min to fly straight there, but that isn't possible.

A 15 hour flight. I live pretty close to the airport (sometimes it sounds like the planes are going to land on my roof!) so there's no other travel involved other than the flight. I always pay more for the direct flight.

It's about a 3 hour flight - and I try to do direct flights as much as possible, especially if I travel with my son. I live about 30 minutes from the airport so it's not too bad to head over there. I won't drive it but he considered it one time and we figured it is about a 24 hour drive. Kudos to you guys with super long plane rides - I get anxious at the 2 hour mark so I can't imagine how it would be on a longer flight!

Atleast 12 hours, the flight is 8 hours but thats from London Gatwick direct to Edmonton, so i have to travel from Birmingham to London which is roughly 2 hours by car/train. Then you have hanging around the airport times and possible delays to add aswell. My SO lives around 30 minutes away from the airport.

The flight is usually 5-7 hours (depending on the length of the stopover, if there is one). And it takes about 2 hours by shuttle for me to get to the airport from my place. I usually end up getting there pretty late (1-3am, my time). But seeing him at the airport makes it feel like no time at all

Oh boy! Between 16 or 18 hours, divided by 10.5 hours from Mexico City to Frankfurt ,Germany and wait there for 4 hours and then another 1 hour of plane to Zurich Switzerland. He has made this trip 3 times! poor thing... I made the trip just once, but we did it together, so the waiting hours with him felt like nothing to me. And also I could go to the toilet whenever I wanted and stand up, because he was is the aisle and I was in the middle. The other man next to me was asking us if we were lving in germany, because I was trying to communicta e with my boy in german :P
Next february I will do the same trip, this time I will be alone , I hope everything's good this time also.
