Ug I'm in this boat too. I'm having an extremely hard time find a job. I have multiple part-time jobs to have money to afford visiting my SO and gas, and once the summer starts I have camp. I look at Monster, Indeed, Careerbuilder, cragislist, and idealist.org every single day

@raiblade3: I was going to offer some advice based on your original post, but I read threw the entire thread and I noticed that you said you were 19. So would I be correct in assuming that you are either not in college or have yet to graduate? I think the job market for people without bachelor's degrees (either students currently in college or high school graduates) is getting pretty tough because a lot of people with bachelor's are taking part time (second) nonsalaried jobs to make ends meet.
1) I would suggest Craiglist like one of the other members suggested.
2) If there is a university near you I would also considering visiting the campus. Bulletin boards are always full of part time jobs for students. There are also usually "experiments" that you can sign up for. I volunteer for a couple of surveys in college for people aged 18-24 and made roughly $25 for an hour of my time.
3) If you are having difficulty finding part time/season work yourself have you contacted an agency? Staffing agencies get contracted to do a lot of the hiring/job placement during the holiday season.
Best of luck and I will cross my fingers for you. Congratulations on your pending nuptials...even though you are a baby [COLOR="Silver"]

I use monster.com and then the job bank in my state which has all of the jobs available in the state listed there, also job corps website is really good because you can usually go to an exact cities job bank website.
I've been looking for a job since i came home in October and still no luck, well i've had interviews but they are uncomfortable hiring me because my last 4 years work experience is from Canada.

Im in the UK. Applied to 40 jobs or more and heard nothing from any of them. Apart from 3.. All rejections. I, too, have to save up for a wedding... I think the job situation everywhere is tricky atm. All you can do is big yourself up on your CV/resume, keep trying and stay positive!

Finding a job for me has been rough. I am away at college but go home for the holidays and alot of jobs dont want someone who can work part time and then needs alot of time off. And I graduate from university next term so I am FREAKING OUT about the job situation! You are not alone. But craigslist is where I have always found my jobs, always be skeptical though and dont release any information until you are sure who you are talking to.

Thanks you guys/ gals!
I feel somewhat proud of myself today. I got a lot of work done. 50 inquiries but only one place i found that is hiring. -_- THAT is not a good ratio lol EVERYONE keep your heads up! Something will turn up eventually. If we can handle LDR's we can handle anything, right? Love you all!Be surcharged with peace and joy, And scatter them wherever you are And wherever you go. I started applying for jobs in January and didn't get anything until the last week of May when I got two offers on the same day. Now I have a seasonal job at a kennel, but I'm unable to work during the school year
I'd recommend getting some volunteer experience while you're in the process of job searching. It'll give you something to talk about during a job interview.

Hang in there. It takes a long time to get one. Just keep trying every day. A site you may want to look into is www.indeed.com

Lumos: I have volunteer experience but it's just undocumented.... Does that count? Or does it have to be written?
Leigh: I'll try it!
