I really miss playing WoW. I never renewed my subscription after it ran out a month ago since ever since Cataclysm it just didn't run right on my computer. Boyfriend thought maybe it was the patches which makes sense my laptop hates adjusting to anything new. Pretty bummed about it though since I really liked playing with him and since he still pays for his own subscription I don't really wanna try another game with a new fee on top of that

But yeah, it does get addicting really fast! I'm just glad I played during the time I wasn't in school since you're right it does suck up a ton of time. I hope to maybe play again during the summer but I'll have to see if it still won't run properly on my laptop.

Jon just bought WoW a couple of days ago and I can say that I'm not too happy about that. >_> He bought it 'cause most of his friends play it and he wanted to check out what the fuss was about and also play it for roleplaying purposes (he loves to roleplay ._. I did too but not anymore). Me, on the other hand, love to play MMO's as well but I refuse to buy this one in particular 'cause I don't want to have to pay a monthly fee to play a game. I like the to pay for the game at the store and that's it. But, the reason why I'm not that happy he got it is due to the fact that I'd prefer to play Guild Wars with him (Can't wait for GW2 >_<) and another MMO called Fiesta and since he'll most likely be playing WoW more 'cause he has a month's worth of it and I'll be playing the other games by myself. I love playing with him for the co-op purposes and simply to have something to do together even though we sometimes argue because we're so competitive. <_<
Also, I'm not bashing WoW in any way. I just don't want to pay monthly 'cause I'll probably won't even play it that much since I have other games/characters to focus on as well. :/

My SO and I met on Ragnarok Online and I felt the same way when he got bored with it and wanted to switch to a new mmorpg. I don't ever feel like giving up RO because it's where we met, but trying something new gives you that great feeling of when you're playing together again. It'll be something new and exciting and gives you more to talk about. I say try it! It wouldn't hurt.

If your self control is poor or you have an obsessive personality, this is not the game for you.

I got WoW almost a year ago at this point and had a lot of fun with it. I played with my friends and it was a lot of fun. Tried to get Eric into it but he didn't really enjoy it. So I still have my WoW nights with my friends but he prefers other games and things to do with me. ^_^
