Sleeping together....

me and my so used to do all the time before he got deployed, we both loved it. we slept with our cell phones next to eachother. it was really nice "sleeping with eachother". i misss it now.

We never do it. Ually we skype in the evening till midnight or 1am, which is still early for my SO, as he is -2H difference, but I get tired. We have never tried to sleep on Skype, and I don't think I would like it. We started our relationship leaving in the same dorm, so I know how it feels living together and I cannot compare it with a videochat! I prefer waiting, and dreaming about him!

That is my absolute favorite. When he leaves that's what I miss the most. Falling asleep, cuddling and watching a movie. Ah, nothing better!

We've tried to do this many times but every time the connection gets cut and I wake up to an empty screen

The one time it worked though was really nice. Seeing his face in the morning when he was still asleep was the nicest thing...

Me and my boyfriend have just tried this the last two nights and the only issue we've had is that its too dark! i can't sleep with lights on but he cant see me if the lights arent on. Any suggestions? Im thinking a nightlight thats not too bright.

nightlight might work.. we had the same problem so usually don't leave the cams up, but just the voice. Then when we wake up if we want to we can start the cams back. Typically I'm on my ratty old laptop which will just run voice and no cam.. so we wake up and just talk for a bit before starting our day. Not something we do every day but it's so so nice when we do get a chance to do this. Even just listening to each other sleep.. can't explain it but it's very sweet and close.

me and my bf only do this when we take naps during the day.. not at night... altho i would love to do that


my bf and i talk thru skype until we cant stay awake much longer.. so at some point we even start saying weird things to each other as we fall asleep.. and then we laugh and make fun of it lol

We do this! We try and spend a night together over skype every weekend. (Having said that, I'm too busy to this weekend. Sad face.)
Most times the connection drops during the night, but we just ring each other back whenever we notice. And yeah, you do need a night-light or something so you can see each other. That is a problem for me as it means its hard to sleep. And ontop of that, worrying about turning over and him not being able to see me if he wakes up! lol Plus having to wake up early when he wakes up. Well I don't get a very good night's sleep!!
But it's worth it to watch him fall asleep as if he's beside me, to fall asleep seeing his face and hearing his breathing, to wake up to see his face, and to start the day with him. Oh yeah! <3

I wish we could do this too! We have a 12-hour time difference right now, so it's kind of impossible. Plus, he doesn't have internet where he's staying at. Nice idea though.

we do it so many times, thanks to skype or ichat, the problem is that, being 9 hours ahead of him, i have to take a nap when it's his bed time or the other way round, so we end up messing up our sleep patterns. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, how embarassing, apparently i tend to snore at times, and his room mate heard me and still makes fun of me, lol.

that is sooooooooooooooooo interesting. never even thought of doing this. he almost fell asleep on video-chat when we used to video chat, but i yelled at him to wake him up and told him to sleep. lol makes waking up to him in person even more exciting

Yeah, my boyfriend and I have slept together a few times now. It's kind of uncomfortable with headphones on. Maybe I should get comfy ones? We only just use voice since we rarely use webcam. It's nice to chat and fall asleep together, and hearing him breathing is so comforting, knowing he is there on the other end. Since he's 8 hours ahead, he usually stays away until like 5am or so and we sleep together. (I end up missing dinner and sleeping way earlier than normal) Skype does disconnect, and I have never thought about if I have unlimited internet. ... ... Oh well. :P My parents haven't complained that I'm using too much bandwidth.

It does make us sad, though. We both want to be in each other's arms instead of being on opposite sides of the world. And since it's not that comfortable, we end up sleeping only for a little bit. However, waking up with him on the other end is such a nice feeling. <3 I hope to actually wake up with him next to me when he comes over in July.

I'm gonna try to get my SO to do this tonight but on the phone instead because neither of us have webcams But I think the phone will work just as well because he too snores lol I miss it tho.

I've always wanted to do that but it is really impractical with our relationship. How did you keep your computer from "falling asleep". Mine would have turned off skype after a while...

You should be able to go into your control panel or settings and change that. On my computer it's under "energy saving," where I can set my computer to never go to sleep as long as it's plugged in. Good luck!

My boyfriend and I do this just about EVERY night. I have a problem with nightmares from something that happened a year or so ago, and we started doing it because he wanted to be able to be there for me when I woke up crying in the middle of the night, and it just stuck. We'll talk or play a game or something on Skype for a while, then when one of us gets tired, we move our computers to our bedrooms and set them up so we can see each other. He HATES the ringtone I use for my alarm clock, so he has even started having me turn it off and he just wakes me up in the morning. It's a much better way to wake up than my squealing pigs ringtone haha
