My SO and I do this every night on Skype since we tried it for the first time. When the connection lasts, it is wonderful to wake up together every morning!

Me and my SO do this about once a week or so, during the weekends we're quite lucky that he's only one hour ahead, so it's not too much of a sacrifice for either of us. We'd do it more often, but my parents get in the way...

My SO and I did it the first months after going from CD to LD.
He went back to Germany and I stayed in the US for some more months; so there was a 6 hours difference between us, that's why we were doing it mainly on weekends... We really enjoyed doing it but it was also a pain in the neck hahaha, specially because we had to leave a "night light" on in order to see each others. He had it really hard because his light was too bright, poor thing! We now laugh about it every time the subject comes up.
Here's a cute picture to share. In Nov, 2009 I got pneumonia (weather changes and I didn't take good care of myself) so that night we were on Skype, I was having a hard time falling asleep because I couldn't stop coughing. So it was time for him to have breakfast so he left the computer/skype/webcam on in front of his fish tank so that I could relax hearing the water and watching the fish... Awww and hey, It worked, cause I fell asleep shortly after it =) - I love him!-

We've been doing this almost every night for two years now The few nights we've been unable to do it I've had a hard time falling asleep; I miss the static!
We're basically always on skype though. Neither of us has much of a social life outside of school

Wow, I didn't think there would be many people doing this :P
My SO and I do it as often as we can, we both have good internet connection so the call doesn't drop, the first time we did it, it was because I was feeling sad and didn't want to say goodbye to him but the call dropped. And we have done it a couple of times after and it has been awesome, except that last night I was sleeping looking up and I snored a little hahaha, he makes fun of me and I get so embarrassed, but it's also funny.
I love to do this because I get to see him every morning and hear him say I love you half asleep is so beautiful. I just can't wait to wake up next to him everyday.... <3

I actually just found this awesome pillow for long distance lovers. No matter how far apart in the world, each person puts on a ring as they go to sleep, and then each pillow get the heartbeat from the other person. So if I had one, I would hear my boyfriend's heartbeat in my pillow. They're not available for purchase YET, but will be before Valentine's day. I must have one of these!

Me and my SO do this occassionally. He is only one hour ahead of me so the time difference isn't too much of an issue. I love falling asleep next to him, hearing him breath/snore!
Sometimes we get a lot of feedback so one or both of us will have to mute our mic but its nice to still wake up and know he's there. And sometime, he's awake too and we will chat until we fall back to sleep!

I love this!
My boyfriend and I has 7 hours of time difference. And there was a time when he took a 2 hours nap infront of the cam, and I can hear him breathing. And that time, I felt like we were close to each other. But it is kinda sad because it makes me realize that I wish I can lay next to him and hug him while he sleeps. And that evening, we were both joking that if I didn't turn off Skype, he won't play his game online for the whole night as long as we stay connected. So I slept that night and I intentionally didn't turn off the cam so he won't play his online game. Unfortunately, my connection got lost after 3 hours.
We did this for a few times already, and although it's an energy wasted, its really nice.

My other half and I do this, we talk so much our calls can go upwards of 48 hours non-stop just falling asleep watching each other sleep or falling asleep whilst watching a movie. I can't recommend this enough, it is great as it feels like you really are falling asleep next to the person you love and waking up next to them too! Even if they don't wake up for another 5 hours because of time difference!

And I thought we were weird...
It started by accident. Mostly with me falling asleep on the phone. On nights I couldn't sleep or he couldn't sleep we would call eachother and let the other person talk softly to us until we passed out. At soem point we just stopped hanging up the phone, or the webcam.
Now it is pretty much an every night thing. After having the chance to sleep in the same bed together, not hearing him at night leaves me feeling kind of 'off' the next day.
There is something very intimate about seeing them and allowing them to see you when you are your most vulnerable. it is almost like you are not so far away at all.
