My boyfriend Rob and I have been doing this every night for a few weeks now. It's to the point where I can't sleep without hearing his voice. I used to have nightmares all of the time, but just knowing that he's there really helps me and makes me feel relaxed when I sleep. ^^ We're lucky enough to live only one timezone apart, so I'm an hour ahead of him but we usually fall asleep around the same time. I've killed my headset doing it, but it's so worth it.

I really want to be able to do this, but my SO doesn't have his own laptop, it's the family laptop, and I'm not too sure how his Mum would like him taking the laptop into his room for the night :/ I think it's a really great idea because sleeping next to my SO and waking up next to him is one thing that I really miss.No time zone or distance or anything can keep us apart

Skype sleeping is truly an amazing tool for LDR couples. I find that through Skype, my SO and I can get as close to being and living with each other as possible. ( despite the 7000+miles that separate us)
I am +14 hours ahead of him. He works the night shift. It sounds all so complicated but with Skype (and yahoo messenger) we are always together.
At first I would nap with him for an hour or so after he comes home from work. I get up and do things that needs to be done. When it's my turn to sleep - he is still sleeping
and somehow we managed to wake each other up so we can sleep together for a few more hours. He wakes me when he's about to leave for work. (this has been possibly the sweetest times we have shared when he or I am barely conscious we do and say the sweetest or the funniest things)
We recently discovered that he can skype video on his phone when things aren't busy at work - I get to see all he does and see his co-workers as well.
They don't seem to mind.
Sleeping together even if it's through a video chat program builds intimacy and closeness. <3

We've made it a routine to have our catch-up talk at the end of the day, right before we go to bed. Then we say "goodnight" and just leave our phones next to each other. It's really comforting...except my phone automatically hangs up after 4 hours so I never get to wake up with him. Lol.sigpic

I love sleeping with my SO over Skype. He always looks so peaceful, and adorable. <3 Very quiet too, hardly ever any snoring or anything which is a bonus. lol. He has said he loves watching me sleep, and that it makes him feel like we aren't so far apart. We have a 6 hour time difference which can make it hard. We don't really go to bed at the same time, but we make a point to sleep together as much as we can.

Never thought we would do this as my SO and I are 12 hours time difference. However, yesterday we used FaceTime as he went to sleep. I laid down and napped for a little while as he slept, or just watched him. Muted it as I had some housework to do, but mostly just enjoyed laying next to him, looking at his face. Then once he woke up, we talked for a little while and then I fell asleep. He kept the camera on until he had to leave for work. I absolutely loved it, and felt closer to him than I had since I left. We can't do this often, but maybe every now and then on my day off I would love to try again!
Only bad thing is he doesn't sleep as well when he has the cam on... Wish this weren't the case!

Wow I thought I was the only one who does this lol my SO live in the same country Australia just different states so we sleep together pretty much most nights but we use our phones thank god it's free to talk to each other. I find it extremely hard to sleep after he leaves or I leave so I always call and say can we sleep together. It's almost like he is sleeping with me physically as I can hear him and I know this is weird but he bought me soft toys and I sprayed them with his cologne so now my bed smells of him. I just need a human shaped pillow and it will all be good lol

Been doing this almost a week now. He's a partial nightworker, and the connection at his work is flaky, and of course he can't do much sleeping...lol...but it's still wonderful. And when he's home and the connection is stable, it is pure magic to wake up in the middle of the night and hear his soft breathing. <3 And then to wake up in the morning and see his face smiling at me. Also, praying together before bed every night is a really wonderful way to bond. Through skype-sleeping, I've fallen even more in love with him.
Heehee. ^.^
