What is your favorite airline? :)

The title speaks for itself! What airline is your favorite or what do you and your SO use the most? What are your best and worst travel stories?!

My favorite is Southwest airline! I looove them <3 Especially their "get-away" option and their no baggage fees!

My best story was with Southwest. My SO and I hit major traffic (due to a wreck). I was absolutely a nervous wreck because I was running late than the mandatory time to be there. We finally make it there and had to rush our good-byes which made me very upset. The security line was MAYHEM! Even when I tried to get a security guard to help me toward the front, they basically told me "tough luck." Thanks Orlando airport!
The people in front of me heard my pleas to the guard and when I was shot down, each one of them turned to me with sad faces but no one did anything. Finally, one man reached over from another lane and pulled me through to his. He started dragging me through the people, stating that his daughter had to get on the airplane that was taking off in 10 minutes. Everyone quickly moved because this guy was HUGE. He helped me put all of my things on the belt to send through the security and whispered to me that he saw me leaving my SO and knew what my tears were about besides just being stressed. He patted my back and whispered "good luck" as I went through the metal detector. I grabbed my things and raced to my gate. The man there smiled and goes, "Are you Ashlee? We were expecting you Go right on ahead!" They held the flight for me! We departed only 5 minutes late but I was forever grateful to Southwest AND that wonderful gentleman!!

My worst story? American Airlines...My SO and I arrived an hour and a half before my flight (which is normal). We go to check my bags in and the woman states that I was past the time they could check in baggage for that flight. I checked their website later to find that an HOUR is the latest you can check in a bag for ANY airport (except international). She said she could put me on "stand-by" for the next flight at 6:30 AM the next morning...Though I was upset, I was happy to spend another night with my SO. However, the next morning, I spent the next 4 hours being bumped from flight to flight because American Airlines overbooks their flights so there is no way a "stand-by" can get on. I'm 17 at this time so I'm in tears because I thought there was no way I was going to get home. This man at the Southwest counter saw me crying hysterically on the phone with my mother and asked if he could help me out. I told him my story and he immediately went to look for a flight for me, even checking competitor flights. He found me one with them at $150 THAT DAY and immediately booked me on it. He went on to talk to my mother on my phone stating that he had a daughter my age and was very upset that American Airlines didn't help me at all to find a new way to get home. So, later that afternoon, I made it safely home.

personally I like Frontier. they have alot ot offer travelers including comfortable a seats and Tv (for a small fee.)

I HATE Delta...they are horrible at taking care of people. When I was leaving to go home and my SO was meeting me there I was delayed and missed my connecting flight...I was so mad. Good thing my SO is pretty much amazing and drove from STL to Memphis and picked me up "My knight in shining rent-a-car" I called him :P

I had to get very agnry at some people but I finally got a little back for the trip...

Reccomendation: if you have a smartphone w apps get the app for your airline. True story last time I saw my SO we left from his house late and the airport was PACKED when we got there. I was freaking out didnt think I would make it in time then I rmembered I had dowloaded the app to my phone. with the app I was able to skip the line..in fact I could scan my boarding pass from my phone just check my bags!! The airline apps should all be free and you just put your confirmation number and it checks you in!! real lifesaver

Southwest, probably, for the baggage reason. JetBlue's not bad either, but I wish they flew more places.

I had to take luftansa when I missed my flight to germany. It was awesome, they gave me real metal cutlery and a complementary shot of baileys after my meal.

So far I've only flown with one airline... well actually two sort of... My ticket was with Air Transat but they have a partnership with Thomas Cook Airlines so the airplane is a Thomas Cook Airplane. I thought the flight was good, they give you a complimentary small bottle of water and airplane pillow/blanket if you can sleep on planes... (I couldn't.. lol) and there's a small TV on the back of the seats that you can watch for free (but you have to buy the headphones or an adapter if you have your own headphones like I did)...

I love Southwest and JetBlue is good, too. My SO loves JetBlue. He had a pretty rough time with Delta because he was coming home from school and they told him his duffel bag was too big to bring for carry on, but I think he was told ahead of time it would be okay. Anyway, he was charged either $50 or $90, I can't remember, to check his bag, and he didn't have the money for it. Some nice woman offered to pay for his bag to be checked.

My favourite airline is an Australian one called Qantas. When I first flew to Australia I had a 14 hour flight from LA to Sydney and then a little jump from Sydney to Brisbane. My long flight was super comfortable, the food was good (free wine with dinner too!) and they gave everyone a warm damp towel to refresh ourselves before we landed. It was wonderful. Then on my short flight I rode in this plane:

And they gave me a scrumptious cupcake and some tea! I was flying for a grand total of 20 hours and was dreading it, but they actually made it enjoyable.

I don't really have any horror stories. Except for flying on prop planes, which I don't like because it's noisy and cramped. But if you want to get to Aberdeen, South Dakota it's a prop plane or a car. What can you do?

I agree with LostInLove. Qantas is pretty good. The food was yummy!

British Airways was also quite good.

US Airways. Southwest doesn't fly out of my city.

For US flying: Southwest, Jet Blue or Virgin Air.

For non-US: Singapore Airlines, Israir Airlines, All Nippon
