The title speaks for itself! What airline is your favorite or what do you and your SO use the most? What are your best and worst travel stories?!
My favorite is Southwest airline! I looove them <3 Especially their "get-away" option and their no baggage fees!
My best story was with Southwest. My SO and I hit major traffic (due to a wreck). I was absolutely a nervous wreck because I was running late than the mandatory time to be there. We finally make it there and had to rush our good-byes which made me very upset. The security line was MAYHEM! Even when I tried to get a security guard to help me toward the front, they basically told me "tough luck." Thanks Orlando airport!
The people in front of me heard my pleas to the guard and when I was shot down, each one of them turned to me with sad faces but no one did anything. Finally, one man reached over from another lane and pulled me through to his. He started dragging me through the people, stating that his daughter had to get on the airplane that was taking off in 10 minutes. Everyone quickly moved because this guy was HUGE. He helped me put all of my things on the belt to send through the security and whispered to me that he saw me leaving my SO and knew what my tears were about besides just being stressed. He patted my back and whispered "good luck" as I went through the metal detector. I grabbed my things and raced to my gate. The man there smiled and goes, "Are you Ashlee? We were expecting you Go right on ahead!" They held the flight for me! We departed only 5 minutes late but I was forever grateful to Southwest AND that wonderful gentleman!!
My worst story? American Airlines...My SO and I arrived an hour and a half before my flight (which is normal). We go to check my bags in and the woman states that I was past the time they could check in baggage for that flight. I checked their website later to find that an HOUR is the latest you can check in a bag for ANY airport (except international). She said she could put me on "stand-by" for the next flight at 6:30 AM the next morning...Though I was upset, I was happy to spend another night with my SO. However, the next morning, I spent the next 4 hours being bumped from flight to flight because American Airlines overbooks their flights so there is no way a "stand-by" can get on. I'm 17 at this time so I'm in tears because I thought there was no way I was going to get home. This man at the Southwest counter saw me crying hysterically on the phone with my mother and asked if he could help me out. I told him my story and he immediately went to look for a flight for me, even checking competitor flights. He found me one with them at $150 THAT DAY and immediately booked me on it. He went on to talk to my mother on my phone stating that he had a daughter my age and was very upset that American Airlines didn't help me at all to find a new way to get home. So, later that afternoon, I made it safely home.
SOUTHWEST RULES!!
