      I'm sorry you had to go through this but you did make the right choice. And you were right in what you said in an earlier post - it is mental abuse, and it would only have become worse had you stayed. When someone tells you they love you, and 2 seconds later turn around and call you nasty things - that isn't love. I endured that kind of behaviour (and more) for over 8 years, and it almost destroyed me mentally and emotionally. And the scars will never disappear.

      I wish you the best of luck, and again; you did the right thing.

        Exactly. I believe that mental abuse is in a way much worse than physical one (not that I would approve one or another). We had some pretty rough years with my father, so I know what I am talking about.

        As for OP: I´m sorry your relationship ended, but as many others said, you did the right thing. This is simply unacceptable. Stay strong
