I'll keep it short and sweet.
I met my SO on an online game called Habbo Hotel. We both played this when we were quite young (I was ~10 and he was ~13).
He was introduced to me by a mutual friend who also played. We "dated" on this game for a while but it was all fun and games since we were young.
We both eventually quit the game and went on to date other people and lost contact.
About ~5 years ago, we somehow started talking again. I think I messaged him on MSN (back when it existed...) and he somehow replied. Either that or AIM (also when it existed...). He was a freshman in college and just getting out of a serious relationship so it was good timing on my part.
We've been inseparable since then.

We met through an app called whisper.
It started out as just giving each other advice and as soon as we decided to talk on the phone for the first time it turned in to more. I remember being so in love with him secretly. It went from phonecalls to skype really fast and after 6 months we finally met each other for the first time.
We also don't tell everyone this story. Some people think we met on vacation...

We met through a website (well she was using the phone app) called Chatous. It's pretty much like Omegle, but you can see the sex and age of the person, first name and a short description, so you know you can just skip them right away (if you don't like anything you have read about the person) or have a chat, and eventually add them as friends through the app. So yeah, we met there and we really liked each other, I remember we started to talk about soccer and Arctic Monkeys, we moved to Kik and then Facebook. Now we just use FaceTime, iMessage and a beautiful phone app called Couple that was designed for long distance relationship couples.

She's French but she lives in Canada. I was in Paris during that time so I just tell people I met her there, to avoid unwanted destroying and sad comments.

and good luck to you two aswell! I can relate to not wanting to tell people about meeting online too.. I used to have so many hang ups about "online dating" alone myself in the past, that just admitting we first had contact through the internet alone was weird to me, even though we met several times irl before anything happened between us. (talk about being oldfashioned as a 24 y/o ) I just tell people "uh we met on a concert" D: .. (has the positive sideeffect of me sounding socially capable :P)
I still can't imagine being in love with some I've never met before face to face for myself, but since I basically have all the important conversations on skype these days I've stopped judging people who do!! I think with time you stop caring about what people think, and get more selfassured about what you're doing, and the longer it lasts the less people will judge aswell.
In the end its's true: Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I met my boyfriend on a forum site we used to visit. I had an old youtube account and the forum site was linked to it, so everyone on said site could see my videos. Well one night he was online and saw a bullying video where I talked about overcoming bullying.

It just so happens, that night had been rough for me. I was nearly raped at school that March, and here it was April when one of the girls at school told me I deserved what the guy had done to me or at least tried. That topped with my anxiety and depression had me in a downward spiral. But that night my SO messaged me and said "It doesnt seem like you over came the bullying." Ironic right? That led to us talking about life, me sharing some secrets, and he saved me. I had planned to kill myself that night, I wanted to escape. But talking to him saved me.

We became best friends, talked every day for hours, and then he asked me to be his. We have been together since.

I met DN sometime in 2010, through a random add on facebook. We were friends for a long time, and grew closer as the years passed. He lives in India and I live in America. In 2012 we both became aware of our strong feelings for each other and in 2013 we equally and fully admitted our love for each other. For some reason, it felt it was more possible than ever to be together. I had always wanted to go to India, and by a stroke of luck, I got a call that said I would be going to India - someone was sponsoring my trip!
We made plans to meet, but we didn't make our families aware of our feelings for each other. Most logical people would never meet strangers; we kept our logic intact by meeting as friends, and only establishing a relationship after we'd met officially. This seemed like the most logical option.
When I landed in India, I stayed one night in Hyderabad, and then took a train to Jhansi - where DN lived. I had to somewhat force myself to be confident the entire train ride there. Fifteen minutes before my stop, my heart was nearly beating out of my chest and anxiety set in. My hands were cold and trembling, I hardly had the strength to stand up and make my way out of the train. It was about 1 AM, so it was dark outside. I managed to stand and grab my luggage, but everything inside of me was at war. "What if he doesn't like me? I can't turn back now."
I asked a kind old man if we had arrived in Jhansi, just to confirm. He said yes and told me which way to turn to exit the train. I began to exit the train when DN was standing in my way. He came to get me. I recognized him in thousands of ways, not just because I was familiar with his appearance. My heart beat faster and I managed to say a very shaky "Hi...". He turned and led the way. When we reached the platform, we officially introduced ourselves with a smile. He led the way to his uncle's car and we were laughing together almost immediately. We sat down for a cup of chai that night, and although I was still nervous (I was still shaking) I knew that I had met him thousands of times before. I remembered him, as if from another life or perhaps many other lives. In April, we officially agreed to be in a relationship together, and made that solid commitment.
I spent 4 months in India, and during the last 2 months we were completely inseparable. Well... we lived apart, but spent all of our days and weekends together. He took good care of me. He made sure I had everything I needed, and when I fell sick, he took me to the doctor. I fell more and more in love with him every day.
We resisted, but eventually goodbye was inevitable. My visa was about to be expired and I had no choice but to return to America for some time.
I'm in America now, and we've been apart for the longest 3 months of our lives. I'm leaving in 3 days to go back to India, where we will begin building our future together...

I'm incredibly jealous of you for having spent so much time in India! There's a huge Indian population in Vancouver so I've tried all kinds of Indian food and gotten a taste of a lot of their culture. I absolutely loooooooove it!
